This picture was taken in 1957 of my brother, Dickey. Looks like he had a pretty good catch for the day. I don’t know what kind of fish they are but I can assure you they were scaled, gutted and fried for dinner.
I wonder if this particular fishing trip was the one were Dickey knocked out my Mom. You heard me right! The small fishing boat we had was powered by an outboard motor that you started by forcefully pulling on a long rope, much like the way you start a lawn mower today. When my brother was starting the motor my Mother happened to be sitting right behind him as his elbow came back and hit her in the face knocking her out cold. To say the least, it wasn’t a good day for my Mom and probably an even worse day for Dickey!
