Missing You

Mom early years (1)

Tomorrow is my Mother’s birthday. Isn’t she beautiful? She was born in 1922 in the small town of Sulphur Springs, Texas. The Lord called her home at the young age of 79. I miss her every day. Happy birthday, Mommy.

Stunning! The women of this era were so elegant in their dress…the gloves, hats ,stockings, heels. The men dressed always in suits with winged tipped shoes..that Great Gatsby look. As a former teacher I find one of the most remarkable elements of that period was the penmanship of from both men and women. It is indeed an art form.. Wonder where your mom was headed this day? Thanks for giving us a forum to give thanks to our moms who have gone before and esp. To all who have moms still here to hug on. Let’s just declare today Happy Mother’s Day we shouldn’t wait for a special date to express our love…you never know what tomorrow may bring.

  2. Interesting that you mentioned penmanship. My mom had beautiful handwriting. Thanks for taking me back to the “Gatsby” era.
