My brother, Jackie, just celebrated another birthday. Growing up he was into music. He began playing the clarinet in third grade and continued playing in the marching bands at Boude Storey Junior High and South Oak Cliff High School. Then he and a few friends won the Battle of the Bands at the Hilton in downtown Dallas in the late ‘50s. He played lead guitar and in his words, “he rocked the house.”
At 18 he was living the dream playing lead guitar with the Deltones. They covered songs from the ‘50s and ‘60s playing gigs in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He also played the sexy saxophone and keyboards. Then he met Mary (the woman of his dreams), had a family and reality set in. He had to find a real job to make a living, but he still keeps his guitar and keyboards around just in case he decides to come out of retirement. Rocker Keith Richards has nothing on my brother and Jackie has aged a heck of a lot better!
Happy birthday, Jackie! You have aged well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
